Dr Parag Mahadik is a highly regarded medical practitioner in Sydney, Australia with 18 years of vast and diverse Plastic Surgical experience.

After finishing his fellowship in Reconstructive Microsurgery at the prestigious Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, Dr Mahadik moved to Australia in 2008 as a specialist Plastic Surgeon. Since then, he has been an esteemed surgeon member of various Plastic Surgery units in major tertiary hospitals across NSW. He was affiliated with the Largest Tertiary Care and Trauma referral Hospital of NSW.

Dr Mahadik accomplished further subspecialty fellowships in leading institutes in Australia as below -

  1. Hand and Micro Fellow- Liverpool Hospital
  2. Fellow in Facial Trauma - Royal Darwin Hospital

Thereafter he was affiliated at Westmead Hospital, Sydney since 2012 to 2022 in a role of a senior surgeon. His experience involves:

  1. Head and neck reconstruction - He has brought to life hundreds of faces, deformed from cancer, disease or accidents.
  2. Hand and Micro- Lead member of upper extremity surgical team for Western Sydney LHD.
  3. Lower limb reconstruction - co working with orthopedic surgeons in salvaging mangled and crushed lower limbs with free or perforator based vascularised flaps.
  4. Reconstruction of simple to complex defects for Colorectal , Cardiac ,Neuro , O & G , Oculoplastic surgeons.
  5. Breast reconstruction - Performed Post cancer breast reconstruction for Princess Mary Breast Cancer Institute.

COSMETIC SURGERY

His eye for detail, the finesse in work and the wealth of experience makes him an ‘artist’ when it comes to sculpting beautiful faces and bodies.

With changing times the demand for aesthetic plastic surgery increased which intrigued Dr Mahadik to explore upskilling into Cosmetic Plastic surgery. He spent 4 years working and training alongside many renowned Cosmetic Plastic surgeons in Australia across various private hospitals. As commonly believed, “Enhancing beauty, out of normal form is easy for someone who recreates form and beauty which does not exist”. However, one needs a formalised and structured mentoring in cosmetic surgery.

He soon established Esmee Clinics which is a purely Cosmetic Surgical Private Clinic in Norwest and Bondi Junction which provides Cosmetic surgery of the Face, Breast ,Body and Intimate Aesthetics.

Research

Dr Mahadik has a keen interest in innovative clinical research. Concepts of beauty constantly change and so does technology. In order to offer the most recent and the best cosmetic techniques to his patients, he travels around the globe visiting the pioneers and attending aesthetic surgery meetings.

His new techniques have been accepted and applauded for research presentations nationally and internationally by reputed medical organisations like the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and New Zealand Association of Plastic Surgeons.

TEACHING AND MENTORSHIP


He is heavily involved in teaching activities for the medical students from University of Sydney and University of Notre Dame. He also provides teaching sessions to Emergency Physicians and supervises junior doctors of the NSW Department of Health on Plastic Surgery rotations.

Friendship or mateship is about being together, helping mates and fellow colleagues all along the way. Dr Mahadik has headed many social and professional organisations and is known for his team building skills.
Alongside his wife, a gynaecologist, he runs a charity supporting “the girl child,” empowering young women through education and healthcare.
