Chin liposuction, also referred to as submental liposuction, is a quick surgical procedure that targets and permanently removes unwanted fat under the chin and along the jawline. In a local anaesthetic (with optional sedation) the patient receives a small cannula through a small, hidden incision.

The unwanted fat is suctioned out in a careful and precise manner, resulting in a sharper jawline and smoother neck contour. YOUR CHIN LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE

Chin liposuction is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation if you choose. You will be comfortable and you can expect to go home within a couple of hours.The procedure starts with our skilled Cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Parag Mahadik marking the area (to ensure symmetry), followed by the local anaesthesia and instrument sterilisation. He then makes a small incision (2-3mm long) in a natural skin crease under the chin. Through the tiny incision, Dr. Parag Mahadik introduces a thin, blunt-tip cannula attached to an aspiration device. Dr. Mahadik will carefully - and strategically - remove the excess fat underneath the chin

and along the jawline to sculpt and create definition and balance; care is taken to avoid overcorrection and to create smooth, natural results. Once the desired profile is achieved, the incision will either be closed with a single dissolvable suture or allowed to heal by secondary intention. There is a compression band that will be placed around the lower face and neck which is designed to help promote healing, limit swelling, and to assist the skin to retract to its new profile. The procedure only takes about 30-60 minutes and you'll be monitored for a short time so that you can go home on the same day.

RECOVERY AND SIDE EFFECTS

Chin liposuction is safe and well-tolerated, but like all procedures, carries some risks.

Day 1–3: Compression band worn full-time; rest recommended

Day 4–7: Bruising and swelling begin to subside

Week 2: Most patients return to light work; results become more visible

Week 4–6: Swelling continues to resolve; final shape begins to settle

Results are usually visible within a few weeks and continue to refine over several months.
